In 2015 National Grid initiated a project to install new 12” diameter steel main pipes to provide adequate natural gas pressure. Current main pipes are unable to provide growth in service – thus a moratorium on new service (with exceptions). As of March 2018 project is 20% complete. Estimated completion date is end of 2019. But, some new services MAY be allowed sooner.
